STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It was a milestone night for LIU goaltender Mylie Norton.
The senior netminder recorded her 200th career save for the Sharks against Wagner on Wednesday. Norton, who also set a single-season career high with 74 saves, reached the milestone with 4:13 left in regulation against the Seahawks.
Offensively, Erin Harkins led the team with three goals, while freshman Ava Hernandez contributed a goal and three assists. Pierson Schuchart, Catherine Batterberry, and Ava Taylor each netted a pair of goals.
Taylor also scooped up a game-high four ground balls, while Harkins recorded four draw controls. Lindsey Lucia added a goal, and Julia Trainor tallied two assists and won three draw controls.
Despite the strong effort, LIU fell short in overtime, 11-10. The Sharks return to action on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Le Moyne.
