BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU women's lacrosse team remains perfect in NEC play after scoring a season-high 19 goals against Delaware State on Saturday afternoon at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Lindsey Lucia propelled LIU to a 7-0 lead after netting a trio of first-quarter goals in the opening 15 minutes of play. Lucia finished the contest with a game-high four goals.

LIU eventually extended its lead to 15-0 in the third quarter, setting a program record for its largest lead as a Division I program while holding an opponent scoreless.

Julia Trainor, Olivia Annunziata, Ava Taylor, Ava Hernandez, and Catherine Batterberry each scored twice, as 11 Sharks found the back of the net in LIU's 19-1 win.

Sharks goaltender Mylie Norton earned her fourth win of the season as LIU improved to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

LIU scooped up a game-high 11 ground balls and won 17 draw controls.

The Sharks return to action on Wednesday at Wagner, followed by a road trip to Syracuse for a showdown against Le Moyne next Saturday.

LIU next plays at home on April 9 against Central Connecticut State.
