BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU women's lacrosse team remains perfect in NEC play after scoring a season-high 19 goals against Delaware State on Saturday afternoon at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
Lindsey Lucia propelled LIU to a 7-0 lead after netting a trio of first-quarter goals in the opening 15 minutes of play. Lucia finished the contest with a game-high four goals.
LIU eventually extended its lead to 15-0 in the third quarter, setting a program record for its largest lead as a Division I program while holding an opponent scoreless.

Catherine Batterberry each scored twice, as 11 Sharks found the back of the net in LIU's 19-1 win.

Mylie Norton earned her fourth win of the season as LIU improved to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
LIU scooped up a game-high 11 ground balls and won 17 draw controls.
The Sharks return to action on Wednesday at Wagner, followed by a road trip to Syracuse for a showdown against Le Moyne next Saturday.
LIU next plays at home on April 9 against Central Connecticut State.
