BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Make it two straight wins for the LIU women's lacrosse team after the Sharks knocked off Iona 7-5 on Saturday afternoon.
LIU opened up a 4-0 lead after Julia Trainor and Erin Harkins each scored a pair of goals in the opening two quarters.
Harkins scored the eventual game-winning goal to give the Sharks a 6-5 lead with 8:12 left in regulation.
Harkins and Trainor each finished the game with a hat trick.
Mylie Norton stopped nine shots and won her second straight game.
Ava Burns caused a team-high four turnovers, and LIU scooped up a game-high 19 ground balls.
LIU hosts Vermont next Sunday at 1 p.m.
