BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Owen Stefanko's game-winning goal with 2:44 left in regulation lifted the LIU men's lacrosse team to its third-straight win, knocking off Siena on Saturday afternoon at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
Stefanko, who scored the overtime-winning goal for the Sharks last season in LIU's 12-11 come-from-behind win over the Saints, netted his third goal of the game off a stellar pass from Aiden Zuhoski to give LIU the lead for good.
Cameron Connolly (3 goals, 1 assist), Mark Regan (2 goals, 2 assists), Ben McIsaac (4 goals), and Zuhoski (4 assists) each finished the game with four points.
Reigning NEC Goaltender of the Week Brayden Wilcken improved to 3-1 on the season after his 15-save performance as the Sharks improved to 2-1 at home.
LIU continues its three-game homestand next Saturday, March 1, when the Sharks host Bellarmine at 2 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
