So. F caps season with NEC-leading 22 goals

WEST HAVEN, Conn. - Lotte Haagmans scored a career-high four goals with two assists and the Long Island University field hockey team concluded the 2025 season with an 8-0 victory over the University of New Haven on Sunday afternoon. Tess Termars followed with two goals and three assists and GiGi Ranoldo also scored twice with two assists.

Haagmans opened the scoring less than two minutes into the game, finding the back of the net via an assist from Termars. She later put LIU ahead 2-0 early in the second period, assisted by Ranoldo at 16:26.

After the Sharks carried a 3-0 lead into halftime, Haagmans tacked on successive goals early in the third period to make it 5-0 and secure her second hat trick of the season. She finished the season with 22 goals, the top mark in the NEC and the second-most in the nation in Division I.

LIU outshot New Haven 35-13, with 19 shots on goal. Freshman goalie Emma Capparelli made six saves.

"It was a great way to end the season," said coach Sam Hickman-Bell. "I'm very proud of all the work the girls have put in. They deserved this win."
