BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Sophomore Jack French of the Long Island University men's water polo team was named the Northeast Water Polo Conference Player of the Week on Wednesday, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced.

"We're incredibly proud of Jack for earning Player of the Week honors once again," head coach Morgan Allison said. "He continues to raise the bar for himself and his teammates. Reaching over 100 career goals and assists as a sophomore speaks to his talent and consistency, but his leadership, work ethic, and team-first mindset truly sets him apart.

French finished last week with 10 goals, four assists, three steals, two exclusions drawn, and one block in LIU's three matches against Harvard University, MIT and Brown University.

The Brisbane, Australia native scored 4 goals in LIU's match against Brown on Sunday, also recording an assist and two steals against the Bears.

This is the second Player of the Week honor for French this season, having previously received the award on Oct. 15.

In addition to French, graduate student Manuel Diez Teran was named an honorable mention for NWPC Defensive Player of the Week, and freshman Lucas Ramirez was an honorable mention for NWPC Rookie of the Week.

LIU travels to the NWPC Championship on Friday, Nov. 21, taking on No. 3 seed Brown in the first round at 5 p.m. The tournament is hosted by Brown in Providence, Rhode Island.
