BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - Graduate student goalkeeper Manuel Diez Teran of the Long Island University men's water polo team was named the Northeast Water Polo Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced on Tuesday.
Diez Teran finished the Crimson Classic with 28 total saves and recorded seven steals in LIU's 14-13 win over Salem University.
The Madrid, Spain native has recorded 152 saves for the Sharks this fall, along with 26 steals. Diez Teran was also named the NWPC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 7.
The Sharks kick off a five-game road trip in California on Thursday, Oct. 23, taking on Orange Coast College at 9 p.m.
