Sharks Shine At Barclays Center With First NEC Win Over Le Moyne

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Sharks proved to be up to the challenge of performing on one of the grandest stages, securing a 78-62 win over Le Moyne at the Barclays Center on Friday night.

Malachi Davis stepped up in a big way, leading LIU in several statistical categories. The NEC's second-leading scorer poured in 24 points on 10 of 16 shooting, while also leading his team with 5 assists and 3 steals. It was the second time in three games Davis scored at least 23, and the fifth time this season he's tallied 22 or more.

Jamal Fuller also provided a strong presence for the Sharks, scoring 20 points for the second consecutive game.

The Sharks started the game on a 10-2 run before Le Moyne narrowed the gap to three by halftime. An impressive second half was highlighted by two separate 9-0 runs by LIU to take strong hold of the game and come away with a win.

After shooting 56% from the field and 54% from long range as a team in the contest, LIU picked up its first win of conference play and improved to 3-3 in Brooklyn this season.

LIU will hit the hardwood once again on Sunday, Jan. 5, hosting Chicago State at 2 p.m.
