BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced its eighth annual All-American Scholars for Division I hockey with 12 members of the Long Island University Sharks making the final list.
The honorees include
Heath Armstrong,
Austin Brimmer,
Grayson Constable,
Rico DiMatteo,
Peter Muzyka,
Zachary Nazzarett,
Chris Pappas,
Valtteri Piironen,
Jack Quinn,
Noah Rupprecht,
Riley Wallack, and
Josh Zary.
"We are very proud of our young men for another year of academic achievement," said head coach
Brett Riley. "This success is even more impressive considering our demanding travel throughout the year and to see the program achieve a 3.65 average GPA this Spring, as well as 12 Krampade All-American Scholars is truly an incredible achievement. These guys put the effort in all year on and off the ice and we are thrilled to see it pay off. A great win for our team!"
The 12 selections are the most for the Sharks since they saw 15 members of their men's hockey team earn the honor for the 2020-21 season.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester, and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders.
