BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The LIU softball team took on Le Moyne in the first of a three game set on Friday afternoon.
The Sharks bats were quiet until the fifth inning when first baseman
Jazmine Cuffie crushed a solo home run to right center to give LIU the lead.
Emma Niece would add on two more runs when she smoked a double to right field.
The three run lead would be enough for
Alyssa O'Donnell as she was dominant in the circle. The junior was scoreless through six innings until allowing her lone earned run in the sixth. O'Donnell earned her tenth win of the year and struck out two.
Gabby Padilla was a star in the field, recorded five infield assists and two putouts.
The Sharks return to the field tomorrow at 1 p.m. when they host Le Moyne for Senior Day and Alumni Day. Cuffie, Padilla,
Dallas Andrews,
Kira Buckner,
Emily Money and
Victoria Zatko will be honored before the game.
