BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — For the first time in program history, the LIU women's lacrosse team clinched a share of the NEC regular-season title after a 10-3 win against FDU in the Sharks' regular-season finale.
LIU took a 2-1 lead into halftime, thanks to two second-quarter goals from
Olivia Fantigrossi.
Julia Trainor scored a pair of second-half goals for LIU, including one in the opening minutes of the third quarter, putting the Sharks ahead 3-1.

Jenna Lewis,
Ava Taylor,
Selia Lyons, and
Alexa Nuzzi all found the back of the net in the second half, leading LIU to a 9-7 record to cap off its regular season and secure its eighth straight win.
Mylie Norton continued to shine in the crease for LIU. The junior improved to 7-2 on the season after stopping three shots.
LIU will next play in the NEC Tournament, which runs from April 28th to May 4th. The Sharks' opponent is yet to be announced.
