LAKEWOOD, N.J. — The LIU Acrobatics & Tumbling team celebrated a historic milestone by securing its first win in program history with a season-best score of 246.670 during Wednesday's tri-meet against Caldwell and Georgian Court.
"We are very proud of the team and the way they competed," said first year head coach
Shelby Armstrong. "This was our third of four meets this month and we were still able to increase our start values going into tonight. We took some risks and came out on top in every event. We are looking forward to the last half of the season."
The Sharks dominated across all six events:
- Compulsory: 35.35 (1st place)
- Acro: Achieved 24.45 (1st place)
- Pyramid: Secured 27.45 (1st place)
- Toss: Earned 26.25 (1st place)
- Tumbling: Achieved 49.650 (1st place)
The Sharks also won the team event with a score of 82.52.
LIU will return to the Pratt Recreation Center on Monday, Mar. 25, at 6 p.m. when the Sharks host Kutztown.
