Men's Volleyball Takes Down FDU in a Thriller, Grabs Third Conference Win

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The LIU men's volleyball team returned to conference play on Saturday when it took on FDU and what a match it was for the Sharks.

The first set was an absolute battle with a lot of back and forth rallies. Neither team would give it as it took the Sharks 29 points to come away with the set victory after an FDU attack error.

The second set was more of the same but this time FDU looked to pull away until LIU stormed back. The Knights were staring down set point to tie up the match until Kale Spencer flipped a switch within his team as the Sharks rattled off four straight points to take a commanding 2-0 set lead.

The wind was out of FDU's sails as the Sharks continued to attack and took the third and final set convincingly, 25-18.

Livan Moreno and Arthur Sueur shared the team lead in kills with seven, followed by Kale Spencer with six.

Chase Celichowski had a team-high 11 digs and three aces.

Jack Sarnowski led the Sharks with 26 assists and seven total blocks.

It was a block party for the Sharks as they combined for 20 blocks as a team.

LIU returns to the court on Friday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Merrimack.
