MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. — The LIU softball team played its fifth game of the Spring Games on Sunday when it took on Sun Belt contender Sunday afternoon.
The Trojans took an early 5-0 lead until the Sharks punched back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth. Unfortunately for LIU as soon as they looked to gain momentum, Troy stole it right back and they responded with four runs in the next half inning and kept pouring on the runs as the Sharks fell 15-3 in six innings.
Alexia Castro went 2-3 on the day, driving in another run after a five RBI game against Chattanooga.
Mari Narvaiz and
Devon Medina also drove in a run a piece.
The Sharks return Monday morning for their final matchup of the Spring Games when they take on Colgate at 11 a.m.
