BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The LIU track and field teams had multiple impressive individual performances at the Metro Championships on Friday. The athlete that stood above the rest was
Sherene Williams, who was named NEC Co-Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
The St. Elizabeth, Jamaica native broke her personal record in the shot put with a throw of 12.86 meters. The throw placed her in third at the meet and is currently the furthest in the NEC this season.
Williams was also named an NEC Prime Performer for the first time this season.
The Sharks return at the Fast Track National Invite at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island on Friday.
