BROOKLYN, N.Y. — This past weekend a number of LIU track and field athletes posted personal records, but none were as impressive as Faith Shaw. 

On Tuesday, Shaw was named the NEC Field Athlete of the Week for her accolades. At the FastTrack National Invite on Friday, Shaw broke a personal and LIU school record in the weight throw with a distance of 17.25m. The Westbury native followed that performance with an even better one at the Big Apple Invitational on Saturday, beating the already impressive record she set the day prior with a throw of 17.76m. Shaw won the event in both meets and finished seventh in the shot put on Friday with a distance of 12.78m.

Shaw was also named an NEC Prime Performer along with Sade Panton who finished ninth on Friday in the shot put with a throw of 12.44m and fourth the weight throw on Saturday, setting a personal record with a throw of 15.59m. 

Shaw, Panton and the rest of the Sharks return on Sunday at the NEC Championships.
