BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Sharks will return home after competing in the Lafayette Classic, hosting York College on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.
LIU will face its opponent while being led by
Terell Strickland, who had a strong showing at the inaugural classic. The senior averaged 11.6 points on 50% shooting from the field and 44% from long range, to go with 5.7 assists over three games. His weekend included back-to-back season-high 17-point performances against Binghamton (Nov. 30) and Niagara (Dec.1), and he also dished out a season-high 8 assists in the contest against Binghamton. Strickland now leads the NEC in assists at 4.7 per game.
Jamal Fuller also had a memorable weekend, recording a season-high 27 points (on 9 of 15 shooting from the field, including 3 of 6 from deep) to go with a team-leading 10 rebounds in the game against Binghamton, a competitive 75-70 overtime loss for LIU. The big man received special recognition and was named an NEC Prime Performer this week.
Sharks' leading scorer
Malachi Davis ranks second in the NEC at 17.7 points per contest. He's scored at least 22 points in three outings and has tallied double-figures in all but one game thus far.
After playing eight of its first ten games on the road this season, LIU will now play at the Steinberg Wellness Center in five of its next seven, including Wednesday, Dec. 4 against York College, Wednesday, Dec. 18 vs. Mount St. Mary's, and Saturday, Dec. 21 against Lehigh, to close out the calendar year.
Wednesday's game will also feature a half-time presentation honoring Knicks alum Walt "Clyde" Frazier. Fans can purchase tickets for all LIU home games at
