BROOKLYN, N.Y. — LIU lost to NJIT on Monday night, falling 89-60.
Sirviva Legions continued her recent scoring hot streak despite the loss. The junior scored a career-high 24 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the field to go along with 5 rebounds. Freshman Candela García-Escribano also added 7 points for the Sharks, while tying her season-high 5 rebounds and dishing out a season-high 5 assists as well.
LIU trailed 33-12 after the first quarter, and though it outscored NJIT 37-30 in the two quarters that followed, the Sharks couldn't quite close the gap completely by game's end.
LIU will return to play Thursday, Jan. 2, hosting Le Moyne at 2 p.m.
