Jersey City, N.J. — LIU lost to Saint Peter's on Wednesday night, falling by a score of 51-37.
The Sharks fell behind in the first quarter, facing a double-digit deficit that the team ultimately could not come back from.
LIU's two leading scorers,
Sirviva Legions and
Janessa Williams, provided bright spots for the team despite the defeat. Legions led LIU in scoring on Wednesday with 18 points, her second-highest scoring total of the season. Williams added 14 points and connected on three shots from deep for the third time this season while pulling down a season-high 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the campaign.
The Sharks will return home Saturday, Dec. 14 to play Delaware State at 2 p.m.
