MANKATO, Minn. — Transfer goaltender
Abbie Thompson made her LIU debut in her home state as the Sharks opened a two-game series against Minnesota State Mankato on Friday night.
Thompson made an impressive 43 saves, while
Bri Eid led the team with three shots on goal in LIU's 4-0 loss to the Mavericks.
Kristen Kiggen was sharp defensively for LIU. The freshman blocked four shots.
Minnesota natives
Ryane Kearns, Ella Knewton,
Sam Mathe,
Paige Vreeman, and Thompson all took to the ice in their home state.
The Sharks will conclude their series against Mankato on Saturday night.
