Ethan Greenwood’s Heroics Propel LIU to Thrilling 24-21 Win Over CCSU

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — LIU quarterback Ethan Greenwood threw two touchdown passes and also caught the go-ahead touchdown after hauling in a 26-yard pass from Luca Stanzani with 7:58 left in regulation, leading the Sharks to a 24-21 win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon.

Greenwood, who started the game at quarterback, threw two touchdown passes in the first half, including a seven-yard strike to Cory Nichols to give LIU a 10-7 lead in the second quarter.

Pat Bowen continued to shine in the backfield for LIU, turning a short screen pass into a 24-yard touchdown reception as the Sharks took a 17-7 lead into halftime.

Greenwood finished the game with 120 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 80 rushing yards in LIU's Week 9 win.

Michael Love also delivered a standout performance for the Sharks. Love hauled in six catches for 85 yards.

The Sharks' defense stepped up big on the final drive of the game, stopping CCSU on fourth-and-four at midfield to lift LIU to its second win of the season. Jahvonte Hair finished the game with a team-high five solo tackle.

LIU next plays at Sacred Heart on Nov. 9, before returning home to host Saint Francis U on Nov. 16 for its final home game of the season.
