EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The LIU men's hockey team opens its season against Simon Fraser Saturday at 7:30 p.m., at the Northwell Health Ice Center.

Brett Riley returns for his fifth season behind the bench for a Sharks, who picked up a program-high eight home wins a season ago.
Isaiah Fox returns for his senior season after appearing in all 37 games in 2023-24, leading the program in scoring with 14 goals and 20 assists (34 points).
In their lone matchup against SFU last season (Nov. 25), the Sharks came out with a 3-1 win, allowing one goal in the second period before pulling away with the win.
SFU is 2-2 so far this season, with both wins coming against Trinity Western between two losses.
LIU will host a number of theme nights throughout the season, beginning with "Pink the Rink" night at the home opener. Upcoming theme nights include "Night of Champions" on Nov 29, "Island Harvest" on Nov 30, and the "Teddy Bear Toss" on Nov 13 and 14.

athletictickets.liu.edu for $20, with kids 12 and under on sale for $12. Season tickets can be bought for $240 each for all 16 matchups at Northwell.
