NORTH EASTON, Mass. — Jeannie Wallner scored her third goal of the season, and Anya Weilandt scored on the power play as the LIU women's hockey team wrapped up its two-game series against Stonehill on Saturday afternoon.
 
Weilandt put the Sharks ahead 1-0 with a net-front goal in the first period.
 
Stonehill eventually opened up to a 3-1 lead in the third period. 
 
Wallner pulled LIU within one goal with an impressive backhand goal at 8:41 left in regulation.
 
Abbie Thompson made 20 saves on the afternoon as the Sharks fell 3-2 to the Skyhawks.
 
LIU hosts Assumption on Friday at 3 p.m. in its home opener at the Northwell Health Ice Center.
