BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The men's and women's swim teams traveled to New Jersey on Saturday to take on Saint Peter's in a dual meet. Both the men and women dominated a majority of their events as both teams will come back to campus with victories.
Daniel Samouilich had his best meet of the season, grabbing wins in both the 50-yard freestyle (22.58) and the 100-yard freestyle (51.98).
Dani Chocano Fernández added another victory to his already impressive season as he won in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:56.14.
Marcell Matyikó kept his run of good performances going as he was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.13.
Mariajose Lopez Lizarraga won both the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:32.50) and 500-yard freestyle (5:17.29).
Emma Koehler was victorious in the 200-yard free style with a 1:59.08.
Ana Sali was the winner in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.83.
Lara Wielkiewicz had another good showing in the 200-yard IM, posting a 2:15.35 and a win.
Allie Bashor won the 100-yard butterfly with a 58.88.
Summer Wenger was victorious in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.89.
Rea Shehu had the win in the 100-yard backstroke with a 59.99.
LIU won all four relay races at the meet.

Alejandro Pascual Del Cid won the men's 200-yard medley relay in 1:33.61.
Marcelo Chauvet, Chocano Fernández,
Stephen Taylor and Pascual Del Cid won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:26.96.
The women's 200 yard medley relay team of Shehu, Sali, Bashor and
Allison Naylor won the race in 1:43.75 while
Femke Backx, Wenger, Bashor and
Alexandra Ciorna won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:41.85.
The Sharks return to the pool on Feb. 2 when they travel to Wagner.
