IRVINE, Calif. — The LIU men's volleyball team opened up its season on Wednesday night when it took on Concordia.
The Sharks started strong in the first set, fighting back and forth with the Golden Eagles but after a few last miscues, Concordia would take the first set by a score of 29-27.
From there, LIU could never really take control even though they kept on battling. Concordia would take the next two sets in a close fight as the Sharks fell 3-0.
Gio Collazo led the Sharks with five kills and six digs.
Arthur Sueur and
Chase Celichowski each recorded four kills
Jack Sarnowski had a team-high 13 assists while also supplying four assists.
Sarnowski,
Joseph Nunez,
Noah Pak,
Alex Weinhaus,
Vanja Petrasinovic and
Roei Horovitz all made their LIU debut's in the match.
The Sharks return to the court on Friday when they take on No. 2 Long Beach State.
