BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU men's golf team won the Northeast Conference championship in May and earned a berth in the Clemson-hosted NCAA Regional.
The Sharks also produced big results in the classroom.
And on Wednesday, the Golf Coaches Association of America recognized four LIU men's golfers, selecting
André Ulvenes Kleppe,
Jan Rybczynski,
Kyle Underwood and
Lewis Wright for All-America Scholar recognition.
Division I golfers with at least sophomore academic and athletic standing, a stroke average under 76.0 and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 are eligible for the award.
Additionally, the team earned President's Special Recognition from the GCAA for exceeding a 3.50 GPA for the academic year.
Underwood graduated from the program after the NCAA Regional, but Ulvenes Kleppe, Rybczynski and Wright return for the upcoming season.
The Sharks open the 2023-24 academic year Sept. 9-10 at The Doc Gimmler hosted by St. John's at Bethpage Red.
