BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — LIU Athletics had a standout academic year in the classroom.

And that was further in evidence Monday as the Northeast Conference saluted five LIU teams for having the top GPAs in their respective sports among conference members during the 2022-23 academic year.

Men's swimming and diving (3.25), men's tennis (3.48), men's indoor track and field (3.28), men's outdoor track and field (3.28), and women's cross country (3.47) all produced the top GPAs among conference members during the recently completed academic year.

Additionally, LIU's NEC student-athletes collectively had a 3.36 GPA during the 2022-23 academic year. That ranked second among the conference's nine members.
