DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The LIU men's golf team is NCAA Championship-bound for the second time in three years!
The Sharks captured the NEC Championship at the Jones Course at LPGA International on Wednesday, winning the three-round event by five strokes over runner-up Howard.
Marcelo Mexsen captured the individual title, winning by four strokes after entering the final day tied for the lead. He shot a sizzling 5-under 67 for the final round and had a three-round score of 212.
LIU led through all three rounds of the championship.
The NCAA regionals will take place May 15-17 at one of six locations:
• Auburn University Club — Auburn, Alabama
• The Cliffs at Keowee Falls — Salem, South Carolina
• Eagle Eye Golf Club — East Lansing, Michigan
• Bear's Best Las Vegas — Las Vegas, Nevada
• Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club — Norman, Oklahoma
• The Institute Golf Club — Morgan Hill, California
The assignments will be revealed during the selection show on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at NCAA.com.
