Brad Beck's Career-High 4 Goals Help Lift Men's Lax over Canisius

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU men's lacrosse team is close to securing a spot in the MAAC postseason.

The Sharks defeated Canisius, 13-9, on Saturday at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium to improve to 4-2 in conference play.

Brad Beck led the way with a career-high four goals on Saturday.

Beck and Sean Boll each reached the 20-goal plateau for the season less than two minutes apart during the third quarter as the Sharks surged into the lead.

With the teams deadlocked at 5 coming out of halftime, LIU rattled off consecutive goals from Marcin Maleski, Beck, Austin McMahon and Boll. The Sharks maintained at least a three-goal lead the rest of the way.

Beck tallied six ground balls and a caused turnover in addition to his four-goal output.

Goalie Sean Gillman recorded 14 saves.

LIU next heads to Manhattan on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. game at Gaelic Park.
