LORETTO, Pa. — The LIU men's volleyball team is off to the NEC finals!
The third-seeded Sharks swept second-seeded Daemen, 25-19, 25-21, 25-22, in the semifinals of the inaugural NEC men's volleyball championship.
LIU, which lost to Daemen twice during the regular season, knocked off the Wildcats when it mattered the most.
"The sharks are stirring and ready to battle it out in Saturday's final," said head coach Kai Dugquem after the Shark's 18th win of the season. "If the semifinals match is any proof, no one wants to play us at our best."
Luke Chandler finished the match with a team-high 16 kills, along with two aces and seven blocks.
Caden Satterfield wrapped up his evening with eight kills and five digs.
Livan Moreno also stepped up big for the Sharks with six kills, three blocks and two aces.
Arthur Sueur had four kills for the Sharks and helped out with an ace and a block.
Luca Holanda tallied 33 assists, and Gio Collazo was strong on the ground with seven digs.
LIU plays top-seed and host school Saint Francis U on Saturday at 4 p.m. for the championship.
