OLD BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Highlighted by Kyle Underwood's first-place individual finish and a hole-in-one from Jan Rybczynski, the LIU men's golf team finished third at the nine-team Shark Invitational at Brookville Country Club.

LIU shot a 6-over 286 during Tuesday's final round — the top score of the day.

Overall, the Sharks had a three-round 288-283-286-857.

The 17-over score placed LIU third, behind Fairleigh Dickinson (852) and Siena (852) and ahead of Adelphi (885), Holy Cross (888), Hartford (892), Hofstra (902), Merrimack (922) and Manhattan (923).

Underwood shot a 3-under 67 during the final round — the only golfer under par on the day — to finish 1-under for the three rounds and claim the individual title.

Siena's Matt Ferrari finished second at even par.

Rybczynski had the highlight of the event, sinking a hole-in-one on the par-3, 170-yard No. 16 during Monday's second round.

Lewis Wright finished second among LIU participants, shooting a three-over 213 for the invitational. Rybczynski and Marcelo Mexsen were 10-over, and Ary Mohan finished 11-over.
