MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. — The LIU softball team took a strong Southeastern Louisiana team to extra innings on Sunday before falling, 7-3, in eight innings at the Spring Games.
Sam Garcia's RBI double and
Kristen Blanchard's run-scoring single in the second had staked the Sharks to an early 2-1 lead. However, Southeastern Louisiana scored the equalizer in the fourth, then pounced for five runs in the top of the eighth.
After three straight days of games in Madeira Beach, LIU exhales Monday.
The Sharks then resume play with a single game against Creighton on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
