Softball Battles Hard Against Red Storm

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Maya Avila, Alyssa Polemeni, Dallas Andrews and Gabby Padilla combined for five runs in the Sharks' 8-6 loss to St. Johns.

Avila's first inning RBI single tied the score at 1.

Polemeni followed up with a two-run third-inning double to cut LIU's deficit to 4-3.

Avila hit a leadoff double in the sixth inning and ended up scoring on an error.

Gabby Padilla pulled the Sharks with two runs with a seventh-inning RBI single that scored Camryn Lyman.

LIU hosts Central Connecticut State on Sunday.
