Sean Gillman Makes 21 Saves as Men's Lax Tops Wagner

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU men's lacrosse team is proving one of the top teams in the MAAC.

The Sharks defeated Wagner, 13-6, on Wednesday at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium to improve to 3-1 in conference play.

Sean Gillman made 21 saves in the victory — the most by an LIU goalkeeper in two seasons.

Tom von Bargen had a career-high-matching four goals, while Brad Beck and Sean Boll had two apiece.

In addition to a goal and assist, Mark Regan scooped up five ground balls and had three caused turnovers.

With the teams tied at 1, LIU rattled off six straight goals, including a pair from von Bargen, to take command.

The Sharks next face Sacred Heart on Saturday at noon in Fairfield, Conn.
