OCEAN CITY, Md. — The LIU men's golf team shot the two best rounds of any of the 17 teams competing and handily won the Battle at Rum Pointe on Sunday.
The Sharks shot a 15-under 280-281-561 to win by 14 strokes over runner-up Rider.
Individually,
Kyle Underwood finished second overall with an 8-under 136.
Marcelo Mexsen finished in a tie for fifth at 5-under 139.
Lewis Wright finished in a tie for eighth at 3-under 141.
LIU won a tournament for the second time this academic year. The Sharks also prevailed in the LIU-hosted Seawane Club Classic back in October.
The Sharks next compete at the Southern Invitational at The Falls Club in West Palm Beach, Fla., April 3 and 4.
