MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Freshman Marcelo Mexsen led the way for a solid showing for the LIU men's golf team at the Bash at the Beach.

Mexsen shot a 7-under 70-67-69-206 to finish second individually at the event, one stroke behind winner Caden Weber of Utah Valley.

Overall, the Sharks finished fourth of 18 teams.

The event was held Monday and Tuesday at the Surf Golf and Beach Club.

After Mexsen, Lewis Wright finished 14th overall with a 1-over 71-74-69-214.

Kyle Underwood and Jan Rybczynski tied for 36th, each shooting 7-over 220s.

LIU returns to action March 25-26 with the Battle at Rum Pointe in Ocean City, Md.
