BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Ahmed Essahaty and
Marko Maletic put together a late 5-0 spurt to get within one of FDU with 28 seconds remaining in the game.

C.J. Delancy's potential game-winning midrange jumper fell short, and the Sharks dropped a heartbreaker, 80-79.
The LIU offense got out to a hot start to begin the game. After a
Jacob Johnson layup at the 14:43 mark, the Sharks led by eight and were firing on all cylinders and were only trailing by four at the halftime break.
Maletic regained the lead with 8:49 left, 60-59, after the team trailed for the majority of the second half.
Tre' Wood finished with 18 points, He dished out nine assists and grabbed six rebounds.
Marko Maletic led all scorers with 28 off the bench.
Andre Washington was the other Shark in double figures with 10.
Notably, LIU shot 9-18 from the three-point line.
