EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The LIU men's hockey team has established new program records for consecutive wins and wins in a season.
The Sharks completed a sweep of back-to-back games against Stonehill with a 9-1 win on Saturday at Northwell Health Ice Center.
LIU has now won five straight games, the longest winning streak in the program's three-season existence. The Sharks also set a program record with their 11th win of the season.
On Saturday,
Josh Zary and
Adam Goodsir had two goals apiece to pace the Sharks.
Jordan Di Cicco,
Nolan Welsh,
Jack Quinn,
Riley Wallack and Gustav Müller also scored.
Müller produced his first goal in 10 games played this season.
Vinnie Purpura earned the victory in goal, a day after teammate
Brandon Perrone earned the victory in a 9-3 win against the Skyhawks.
LIU looks to continue its success next weekend when it hosts Alaska Fairbanks on Friday and Saturday at Northwell Health Ice Center.
