FAIRBANKS, Alaska — Josh Zary scored a pair of goals, but the LIU men's hockey team fell to host Alaska Fairbanks, 3-2, on Friday night at the Carlson Center.
Zary, a freshman from British Columbia, opened the game's scoring on the power play in the second period. However, the Nanooks produced the next three goals.
Zary pulled LIU within a goal with 65 seconds remaining in regulation.
The teams had split a pair of games on Long Island last weekend. They face each other again in Fairbanks on Saturday at 11:07 p.m. ET.
