EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — Isaiah Fox scored the game-winning goal with 4 minutes, 16 seconds remaining in regulation and the LIU men's hockey team snagged a victory against an Atlantic Hockey Association opponent.

Fox and the Sharks defeated visiting Sacred Heart, 2-1, at Northwell Health Ice Center on Sunday night.

Goaltender Brandon Perrone made 22 saves in the victory — a dozen of which came in the third period.

The teams had traded shorthanded goals in the first period, from Nolan Welsh and Sacred Heart's Liam Izyk.

The Sharks (4-5) take the momentum from the victory into games at Omaha on Friday and Saturday.
