Women's Volleyball Plays FDU in NEC Clash

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—  The LIU women's volleyball team looked to strengthen its conference record when FDU came to town on Saturday night.
 
The Sharks were on the same level as the Knights throughout the entire match, but a few bounces and reviews went in FDU's favor.
 
After looking to come back in the fourth set, the Sharks could not gain enough momentum and wound up falling fell in four sets 22-25, 22-25, 25-21, 18-25.
 
Camelia Melendez led the Sharks with 13 kills, bringing her season total to 261. Amaris Smith was second with 11 and recorded a .391 hitting percentage.
 
Bria Plante and Rumur Rouille were both incredibly efficient. Plante tallied nine kills on 17 attempts (.529%) and Rouille recorded eight on 16 (.438%). The pair also combined for six blocks.
 
Selina Koç added 46 assists, giving her an impressive season total of 632.
 
Alasha Colon led LIU in digs once again, recording 20 and bringing her total for the year to exactly 500.
 
The Sharks return to the court on Tuesday when they travel to take on Albany at 6 p.m.
