FAIRFIELD, CONN.— The LIU women's volleyball team looked to continue its great form of conference play when they took on a tough opponent in Sacred Heart on Saturday night. The Sharks battled all match long, but fell in three sets 23-25, 24-26, 18-25.
In both the first and second set LIU fought back from a deficit, but could not find a rhythm that would lead them to a win.
Camelia Melendez led the team with eight kills while
Cristal Paulino Rubel put together another strong match tallying six kills on 11 attempts.
Selina Koç was the assists leader with 17.
Allie Merz was second with nine.
Alasha Colon added 20 more digs to her NEC-leading total which now sits at 480.
Colon will look to record her 500
th dig on the season when the Sharks travel to take on FDU Saturday at 5 p.m.
