BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU football team has a short week to prepare for Central Connecticut State.

The teams will square off on CBS Sports Network on Thursday at 7 p.m.

LIU will look to rebound from a 39-0 home loss to Merrimack on Saturday.

With Luca Stanzani mending a shoulder injury and Ethan Greenwood also unavailable, 17-year-old true freshman Chris Howell handled the bulk of the quarterbacking duties. Maurice Smith then entered midway through the fourth quarter at signal caller.

Eric O'Neill produced 4½ tackles for loss in the defeat.

Will Lynch punted nine times, averaging 44.6 yards.
