NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. — The LIU men's swimming and diving team took on NYU on Saturday afternoon after a late addition to the schedule earlier this week.
 
Despite falling to NYU, the Sharks placed first in the 200-yard medley relay, thanks to Benny Karlsson, Giannis Venetos, Ethan Law and Alejandro Pascual del Cid.
 
Pascual del Cid was the top finisher in the 50-yard freestyle (21.25), followed by Porter LeVassuer.
 
Ethan Law engineered a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (51.34).
 
As a team, the Sharks scored 81.5 points to NYU's 180.5
 
LIU returns to action on Friday, Feb. 3 at Wagner before returning back home the following day for Senior Day against the Seahawks.
