REHOBETH BEACH, DEL. — Graduate student
Emily Byrne spent three seasons at Limestone before transferring to LIU.
In her first competition, she stood out among all individuals in the field.
Byrne finished fifth with a 7-over-par 220, just one stroke behind four others that all tied for first.
"I'm so excited to see Emily start strong and put in some solid scores at our first tournament of the year," head coach
Lily Bartell said. "We will continue to work towards improving as a team, and we look forward to Boston College next week.
As a team, the Sharks finished seventh.
Some notable numbers include
Ashlee Garrett's 74 and
Vera Arrébola Granes shooting a 76 in round two.
The next competition for LIU women's golf will take place on Sept. 25 at the Boston College Intercollegiate.
