Jules Kuzmich Tallies Goal in First College Game as Field Hockey Opens Season at Nova

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — The LIU field hockey team's season officially is underway.

The Sharks opened their season with a 5-1 loss to host Villanova on Friday afternoon at The Proving Grounds.

Redshirt freshman Jules Kuzmich, making her collegiate debut, produced a second-quarter goal to pull LIU within one score at the time.

Freshmen Victoria Nazar and Pippa Sickler also made their collegiate debuts — with Nazar, like Kuzmich, in the starting lineup.

Maggie Streichert made 10 saves in goal.

The Sharks' season-opening road trip continues when they face UMass Lowell on Sunday at 1 p.m.
