Baseball Battles Sacred Heart in Game Two

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – LIU baseball hit the diamond on Saturday afternoon against Sacred Heart for game two of the weekend series. 
 
The Sharks fell, 9-6, to the Pioneers, falling to 26-14 (11-6 NEC) on the season.
 
LIU led after the top of the first when Giovanni Ciaccio doubled to score EJ Exposito, but they would not lead after the first. 
 
Seth Surrett scored on an error in the third to tie the game, 2-2. Sacred Heart would regain the lead and eventually win the game.
 
Michael Edelman was 3-5 at the plate, his fourth time this season with three or more hits in a game. His two-run homerun in the ninth now gives him five this year.
 
Jalen Wade threw four and a third innings, earning his second loss. Nick DeSalvo came out of the bullpen and tossed three and two thirds while allowing two earned runs and striking out six.
 
The Sharks close out the series tomorrow, May 1, at 1 p.m.
