BLOOMFIELD, CONN. – The LIU women's golf team took part in the Hartford Wintonbury Hills Invitational this weekend, finishing fourth overall among all in competition. The Sharks also saw Julia Towne and Juliana De Leon finish tied for 15^th overall.
 
Towne shot 77 and 79 in the two rounds respectively to round out the best finish in all five golfers of LIU. Finishing tied for 18^th, Vera Arrébola Granes anchored her finish with a 78 in round one. 
 
The lowest score in a round came from Ashlee Garrett, shooting a 76 for her season-best mark to finish third among all Sharks. Garrett finished tied for 21^st, as well as Lexi Delorimiere, who shot an 80 in round one and a 79 to round out the second day. Maja Toth improved her first-round score of 83 by five strokes to finish inside the top 30 competitors. 
 
Up next, the Sharks will compete in the Quail Valley Spring Invitational, hosted by Mount St. Mary's, on Monday, April 11.
