SHARK BITES
- Even with a win on the second doubles court for LIU, Bryant picked up the first point of the day with wins on courts one and three to take the early 1-0 match lead.
- In singles play, reigning NEC Player of the Week Sofiya Kuzina got the Sharks on the board with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over the Bulldogs Ada Boru to level the match 1-1.
- LIU didn't slow down after court one as court two featured Valentina Dancenco taking down Sarah Hickey 7-5, 6-4.
- Courts three and four each featured exciting three set matches with Victoria Erechtchenko emerging victorious over Leanne Kendall 6-2, 5-7, 6-0 and Bianca Compuesto coming back to defeat Caitlyn Munson 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 to clinch the match for LIU and make it 4-1.
- With the match already final, Elinor Storkaas picked up one more win for the Sharks to make it 5-1 with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Camila Baeza.
- LIU has not lost to an NEC opponent in dual match play since February 2020 as they went 6-0 in 2021 and this year are 5-0.
- The Sharks are back in action on Sunday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m. when they welcome St. Francis Brooklyn to Brookville.
