SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The LIU men's volleyball team was on the road again this weekend, taking on the Yellow Jackets of American International College and winning 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-16).
 
SHARK BITES

• The Sharks started off strong, taking a 12-5 lead in the first set and keeping on the gas from there, and taking the first set 25-14.
• In the second set, LIU hit .500 percent, while also holding their opponents to just 11 points and topping them 25-11.
• In set three, the Yellow Jackets held on until the Sharks went on a 6-0 run and took a 15-7 lead and then carried on to win the set 25-16 and take the match 3-0.
• Setter Luca Holanda got 19 assists for the afternoon, as well as four service aces.
• Gioele Iacono and Giomar Collazo each sent three services aces over the net.
• Jordan Cooper led offensively for the Sharks, tallying eight kills and hitting .353 percent. Kade Frischknecht got seven kills and hit .333 percent.
• Coming up, the Sharks are finishing out their season with a three-game home stint, starting off Tuesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. against St. Francis Brooklyn.
